How to Get Involved

Celebrate the women who changed Chapel Hill by submitting a page into a community journal. Submissions will be displayed online at We will also create a physical journal that we will share with the women whose stories are at the heart of this exhibit.

Get Creative

Create, write, draw, or paint your response to one of the following reflective prompts:

Prompt 1

If you could talk with an ancestor or important woman from your past, what would you say?

Prompt 2

Imagine a world where BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) thrive. Describe it.

Prompt 3

What change are you inspired to make after learning from the women of "I Was Still Singing"?
