"In some days when our work is busy and we don't have time to cook or prepare food, we'll make something like this and it will last us for a couple days or a few days and we'll be able to take it with us and then we don't have to worry about cooking because there's already the paste there."
Ingredients
- Oil
- Turmeric Powder
- Onion
- Shrimp
- Roselle Leaves
- Shrimp Paste (optional)
- Salt
- Chicken Flavor
Instructions
1) Heat the oil and sauté the turmeric in a pan. Add the shrimp.
2) Add the roselle leaves to the pan. Add a little water and cover the pan to soften the leaves into more of a paste. "Once the paste is done you can leave it for 3 or 4 days and it can last."
3) Once the roselle is soft, "we'll be putting in the shrimp paste, salt and chicken flavor....That chicken flavor, it adds a lot of flavor to it."
4) Once the paste is done, serve it with rice and boiled vegetables. "It's a little sour, so it's good with rice."
